Purpose of Apparatus

Squad 5 is best known as a support truck. The Squad accomplishes it's duties by providing manpower and needed equipment to the scene and therefore responds to most incidents. The equipment on the Squad includes extrication for automobile crashes, industrial accidents, and other dangerous incidents; fire fighting equipment for ventilation and overhaul; surface water rescue equipment and general scene support. The crew on the Squad can be expected to perform a variety of tasks from car crash extrication, interior firefighting manpower and overhaul, water rescue, hazardous spill containment, traffic control, and assistance in fire fighter rehab.
